Apologies to the neighbours0

Little Ebba and parents. Thanks to Joe McNally for the “lights through a window” inspiration, the neighbours for not panicking about the bright flashes and Marcus for providing a convenient tupperware waterproofing method. Of course Victoria and Marcus put in the majority of the effort to make this picture possible. Flash outside the window to the left boosting the daylight and a warm fill from the light above their heads.  A quieter, less posed moment in natural light below.

Danny and Catriona’s wedding: Getting ready to get ready0

Ryaaaan!!! I MAKE YOU DECEMBER!
You know a wedding is gonna be fun if these are your location scouting photos.

2.8 Hours later in Bristol0

I took a camera to a running of “2.8 Hours Later” in Bristol. It is part of Bristol’s Interesting Games festival (igfest). You are one of the survivors of a zombie apocalypse and have to reach a safe haven. Only you don’t know where it is.
Your group of survivors have to travel through the zombie infested city, talking to its crazy inhabitants who know where safety might be found. Meeting them is fraught with tension and danger because they tend to be surrounded by zombies and are more than a little unhinged.
I made these images while taking part, which was a lot of fun. Inevitably during the dramatic moments I was in full flight. Point and shoot would take too long, there was only time to spray and pray. I rather enjoyed the combination of heart pounding tension and flat out sprinting.
Probably best to see the images in a slideshow….
Somehow I didn’t get tagged by a zombie (they use UV pens and scan you after), but managed to get made up as a zombie for the party anyway.

Getting ready0

I am getting ready too.. the bags are packed and the batteries are charged. I’m looking forward to visiting some friends this weekend and seeing them ‘make it official’.

I guess the message is to make the best out of wherever you are!
